Ortega High School

Nina Munoz is a prolific writer and school publication editor with a passion for poetry. Teachers describe Nina as one who will pay it forward while pursuing the study of law, and self-publishing her own poetry collection. Nina plans to attend MSJC this fall and transfer to UCR after two years. Her career goal is to work as a paralegal, eventually taking the bar exam to become an attorney. Nina’s advice to students who face challenges in their lives is to never lower one’s expectations, but to seize each opportunity, even when getting a second chance seems beyond reach. --Lake Elsinore Unified School District

Senior End of Year Information

 Senior Luau will be held on Wednesday, May 16th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Ortega High School.   Luau activities will include high school memories slide show, food, and games.  All OHS and KMA seniors are invited. Cost is FREE to seniors. Please RSVP to Susan in the library or Albertina in the front office by Friday, May 11th, 2012.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                     
OHS Yearbooks for the 2011-2012 school year will be available in May, 2012.  The cost will be approximately $20.00.   Reserve your copy now with Susan in the library. 
 
Graduation Announcements are available for purchase at Ortega High School. Cost is $1.00 per announcement. Announcements will be available for the following schools: Ortega High School, Keith McCarthy Academy, and Valley Adult School.   Allow 2-3 days for lead time. 
 
Textbooks and/or library books must be returned. If students do not return their books or fail to pay for lost or damaged materials they will be billed per Board Policy 6162.2(a) and Ed. Code 48904.3 and their grades, transcripts or diplomas may be withheld.
 
All payments for cap and gown, pictures, yearbooks, and announcements must be made in CASH to Susan Fortin in the Ortega High School library.   She can be contacted at 951-253-7065 x3050 if there are any questions.
Graduation 2012
It is the time of year once again to begin planning for your child’s
Ortega High School or Keith McCarthy Academy diploma!

                                                                                           
 
We are already preparing for our graduation ceremony. Please mark your calendar. The information is as follows:
                                    Date:               Tuesday, May 22, 2012
                                    Time:               3:00 pm
                                    Place:              Ortega High School
                       
All students participating in the ceremony must be at school no later than 2:00 pm.  We ask that you limit the number of guests you invite to 10 people. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking is limited. Carpooling is recommended.
 
Cap, gown and tassel need to be purchased if you are planning to participate in the ceremony. The total cost is $35.00. CASH ONLY will be accepted.  See Susan in the Library. No refunds will be given after Friday, May 18th, 2012. 
 
Any student wishing to speak at the ceremony needs to contact Ms. Longe or Mrs. Lippold as soon as possible.
 
Graduation rehearsal is mandatory and will be held on Monday, May 21st, 2012 at 1:15 pm at Ortega High School in front of the outdoor stage.
