Graduation Information 2013

It is the time of year once again to begin planning for your child’s Ortega High School or Keith McCarthy Academy diploma!
We are already preparing for our graduation ceremony. Please mark your calendar. The information is as follows:
Date: Wednesday, May 29, 2013
Time: 2:30 pm
Place: Storm Stadium 500 Diamond Drive, Lake Elsinore, CA 92530
All students participating in the ceremony MUST BE AT THE STADIUM NO LATER THAN 12:30 pm. Gates open at 1:30 pm for friends and family. Parking is FREE. Graduation tickets for guests will be available Monday, May 6th. Please stop by the front office to pick up your tickets.
Cap, gown and tassel need to be purchased if you are planning to participate in the ceremony. The total cost is $45.00. CASH ONLY will be accepted. See Ruby in the front office. Cap and gowns will be available for purchase in April. No refunds will be given after Friday, May 24th, 2013.
Any student wishing to speak at the ceremony needs to contact Ms. Campbell or Mrs. Lippold as soon as possible. One student will be chosen from OHS and KMA.
Graduation rehearsal/meeting is mandatory and will be held on Tuesday, May 28th, 2013 at 1:15 pm at Ortega High School in front of the outdoor stage.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Graduation is contingent upon student’s successful completion of all courses and 40 hours community service. Please check your child’s credits/transcript to ensure that he/she is on track to graduate.
Senior End of Year Information
Senior Pictures will be taken by Cherished Memories Photography on an appointment basis here at Ortega High School on Tuesday, April 2nd and Wednesday, April 3rd. Please see the attached flyer for pricing. Caps and gowns will be provided for the photo shoot. A $10.00 sitting fee is required to reserve your appointment time. Please stop by the Ortega High School office to make your appointment.
Senior Prom will be held on Saturday, April 13th from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm at the Summerly Golf Course in Lake Elsinore. The cost is $42.00 per person. The price includes: dinner buffet, refreshments, dessert, crown prom court, DJ, dancing, and pictures (extra charge). Seniors who are bringing a guest, must pick up and complete a guest permission form. Tickets are on sale now. The deadline to purchase tickets is April 3rd. Tickets can be purchased in the student store before and after school.
Senior Luau will be held on Wednesday, May 22th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Ortega High School. Luau activities will include high school memories slide show, food, and games. All OHS and KMA seniors are invited. Cost is FREE to seniors. Please RSVP to Albertina in the front office by Friday, May 17th, 2013.
OHS Yearbooks for the 2012-2013 school year will be available in May, 2013. Cost is $20.00. You must preorder your yearbook with Ruby in the front office. Deadline to order is
Wednesday, May 22th. See Ruby in the front office.
Graduation Announcements are available for purchase at Ortega High School. Cost is $1.00 per announcement. Announcements will be available for the following schools: Ortega High School, Keith McCarthy Academy, and Valley Adult School. Allow 2-3 days for lead time.
Textbooks and/or library books must be returned. If students do not return their books or fail to pay for lost or damaged materials they will be billed per Board Policy 6162.2(a) and Ed. Code 48904.3 and their grades, transcripts or diplomas may be withheld.
40 hours community service is REQUIRED for graduation. If students have not completed 40 hours community service, they will NOT receive a diploma. Be sure all hours have been completed by May 17th, 2013.
All payments for cap and gown, pictures, yearbooks, and announcements must be made in CASH to Ruby in the Ortega High School front office. She can be contacted at 951-253-7065 x2106 if there are any questions.

The Model Continuation High School Recognition Program is a partnership of the California Department of Education and the California Continuation Education Association. The goal is to identify and recognize outstanding programs and to create a resource list of quality programs that other schools can visit and emulate and that districts can use when planning to establish new continuation high schools.

Mobile Health Clinics
Mobile Health Clinics Serve LEUSD Community
Free TDAP boosters, health screenings, and general medical exams are available to students and families that have recently lost, or do not have, health insurance. Services are provided by the Riverside County Regional Medical Center. Mobile Health Clinic site visits include Wildomar Elementary School (1st Tuesday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.) and Lakeside High School (3rd Tuesday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.).
