Economics

Course Description

This course is based upon the California State Framework and deepens the students understanding of the economic problems and institutions of the nation and world in which they live. They are challenged to make reasoned decisions based on economic principles and systems that are taught in class. The content includes fundamental economic concepts (scarcity, supply and demand, surplus, comparative economic systems, micro-economics, macro-economics, along with international economic issues such as foreign exchange, balance of payments and trade, international market, and trade restrictions. This course meets UC/CSU (Elective-g) requirement.
