Sociology is a one-semester course designed to introduce the student to the kinds of questions this discipline asks about society. It also presents contrasting approaches for reaching conclusions. The course, which deals with selected and sociological concepts of significance to high school students, is designed to involve them in exploring these concepts.

Content, structure and teaching strategies of the course are arranged with the idea that the student learns best when they are actively involved in the learning process and when they study topics which are relevant to them.
